About Eleven Plus Exams

ElevenPlusExams.co.uk was founded in August 2004 out of frustration by a single parent in trying to assist his son through the maze of 11 plus exams. Living in a LEA that did not offer any Grammar Schools and only one Senior Private School of repute my son is forced to master four different exam formats and subject matters of the four adjacent LEA's and Senior Private Schools with almost overlapping exam dates. The normally prolific internet surprisingly proved to be a weak source of information and guidance and in fact the best source has proved to be a network of experienced mothers and select band of over subscribed tutors whose identities are more closely guarded than the nation's secret service! As a result this site was created to help all other parents facing the same predicament.

Parents are under critical pressure to both provide test and practice material as well as tuition in an arena where a single percentage point can be the difference between success and failure, impacting the long term future of their child. So the objective of this website is to create as far as possible, on a very limited budget, a single focal point for both parents and children alike to level the playing field for all our children.

The ultimate aim of this website is a very ambitious resource and expect new features to be added weekly, however the rate of development progress will be a function of online sales as this provides the only funding for it.

Finally a website like this is not possible to create in a matter of a couple of weeks without some very dedicated input ranging from 10 year old exam veterans to headteacher of a school in Harrow, so a big thank you to all contributors and the most junior of our consultants.
