Nfer Nelson English 11C, Q7 - error ?
"Where did John Harrison build his first clock ?"
The answer to this question is given as "C: In London".
However, the correct answer is surely "E: In Yorkshire", since he learnt how to build "fine clocks" while living in Yorkshire as a young man (lines 3-5).
Anyone agree with me ?

After my daughter answered the question, she questioned the answer, which led to my questioning her reasoning, and I reasoned that her questioning was reasonably unquestionable, hence my question, which has been answered.yoyo123 wrote:it's a while since I have looked atteh paper, but I remember questioning that answer ( iyswim!)
I hope that clears things up.

Yes, I'm devious enough to have thought of that, but it would be PhD level hair-splitting, which is certainly not covered in the Nfer-Nelson papers.First-timer wrote:I see what you mean. I suppose if you wanted to split hairs you could argue that he may have learned to build clocks by some method that didn't actually involve the construction of any clocks! Seems unlikely though.
I suspect the question writer simply didn't read the paper properly.
