Slightly Off topic, but a note of warning, poetry that seems wonderful through the eyes of experience can seem just plain weird to a child. I remember my mum giving me the Lady of Shallot to read when I was about 11, I had no interest in boys and had never been in love, so I roundly condemned the heroine for being a "silly woman". What on earth was the point in doing something that would kill you just for a better look at some idiot on horseback, who didn't even stop to fish her out of the river? After that I found it hard to read any poetry that was more advanced that "Please Mrs Butler" My mum was shocked at the lack of romance in my soul, but I had no experience of romance. (and the Lady of Shallot was a silly woman :P )
