QE Boys - English: Comprehension only? Grammar only? Both?

Dear all

My DS is sitting QEB in Sept this year and I am not sure what to focus on for the English. The school only says there will be one English test which will be multiple choice questions. From that I assume there will not be creative writing, however can anyone help me interpret whether there will be text comprehension and grammar in equal measure? Likely only one of the two? Or is it worth not guessing and practicing both text comprehension and grammar?

Thanks!!!

...and also (sorry!) can I assume my DS will not have write at all? They say multiple choice questions only but I find it very strange to rule out any questions that might need to be answered with a little writing. Ticks in boxes only???

Thanks :-)

I suggest you check GL Assessment papers. That was the format last year.
Your child will have to choose one of the options specified. As the answer sheet is OCR marked, they are multiple choice types.

There are lots of posts on this already which is why nobody is answering. Do a search on QE or my posts and you will see lots of threads on the exam. No writing, a comp and some grammar questions, all mc. DG
