Hi
Can anyone suggest a good spelling book for a child who will be starting year 5 in September 2013?
I am struggling to get him spell the words correctly and I need some book that might have daily worksheets?
Thanks

Hi, I've heard Schofield and Sims is very good, look on Amazon- you can flick through a copy. I need to do this for my ds going into yr 5.
Have you looked at the spelling lists online, like the most common misspelled words? Also go through the rules with him like i before e except after c only when it rhymes with bee! Hope this helps.

Thanks MamaBear (BTW, very good nick name ;)

S&S looks good. I also had a look at the CGP spelling books and they look ok too. I am going to show preview to my DS and buy the one he likes.

Hello also looking for any advice on which spelling work book to buy? I have searched the forum and clearly there are loads of choices: schofield, and e, Essential spelling list or those by a.brodie that are ranked by age.

Any replies greatly appreciated as I have only jut realised that dd's spelling needs rapid improvement  too busy working on her story structure :?

Thanks
