The forum shop sells it. Personally I think it is a bit of a ripoff with lots of empty pages to write your comprehension in. We can all get paper, we don't have to pay ten quid for books with empty lined paper to write in. DG

Hi Mystery,
Did you find something you liked? I'm using Bond 9-10, but it's not multiple choice and my son has not enjoyed the texts so far*. I'm assuming the comprehension part in 2016 will be multiple choice. Who knows!
*(I do like the grammar part, though)
Thanks!

First past the post

Thanks! Any idea about how long the papers are? I'm looking for something which takes no longer than 30 minutes. I got the app from this site and the passages are classic literature. (Dickens, etc) My son found them quite difficult and long. I hear the Kent comprehension part wasn't so difficult.

You could have a look at the papers on the CSSE website, if you haven't already?
http://www.csse.org.uk
Bear in mind, though, that these are for an 'opt in' area rather than a fully selective one such as Kent.

Thanks you so much. I guess the 40 minutes allowed would include reading time? I read recently that the average person reads 250 to 300 words per minute. That would mean that you'd need about 5 minutes to read the passage for an adult. I can imagine that reading speed must vary so much among children.
Does anybody know what average speed the testers expected a child to have?
