Hi,

I am not taking my DD as it's supposed to be for parents. To be honest my DD thinks it will be boring for her to sit and listen to a speech so she doesn't want to go anyway. If your DS wants to go I can't see it doing any harm.

I was going to phone SGS on Monday to ask if children should go to the evening I wasn't sure if it was the evening where the uniform samples were there to try on blazers for boys etc

Well let us know. According to the SG website the uniform is only available by mail order which concerns me as my daughter is tall and very slim so would need to try before I buy.

Hi Partygirl my daughter is also tall and slim. The mail order company are very efficient I would recommend ordering a couple of sizes and then returning items for refund if not required.

Hi
We went to the parents evening last year and there were lots of soon to be year 7's there and siblings. We had our daughter babysat at great inconvenince and were disapointed that we missed the oportunity to take her with us. There was a talk given by the head and the opportunity to ask questions of both the head and the head of year 7. There were a few pupils there wearing the uniforms to show you the quality etc but no opportunity to buy or speak to a retailer.
Hope this helps
mumm :)

Thanks mumm. The current uniform supplier is different to the one when my oldest daughter started 4 years ago. This one is certainly better and more efficient but it is a shame the school cant have some actual samples to look at to give you an idea of sizes etc. I will possibly take my youngest daughter along as I think the more opportunities they get to go to the school before they start the better.

The supplier was at the new parents evening last year, he was in a separate room and there was a huge queue so could have been easily missed. He was very helpful, took one look at my dd and said that they didn't go down to her size in tracksuits as standard( she's very petite) but to phone up and ask for such and such size and they'd put the badge on it .....etc) He also had the full range of uniform there so you could see the quality and the children could try blazers on to see what fit they needed. The ordering is simple, service fantastically fast and if things don't fit you can return them no problem, the only thing we couldn't get through them was school trousers as my dd is so small and slim, but that's a problem wherever we go.
