I wish Kendrick would get on and announce their Open Day dates - I've got summer holidays to plan

DD is at an Indie atm so they break up earlier and go back a bit later. Also need to ensure DH is actually in the country for it since he remains unconvinced about GS.
Re: Admission to Grammars in Reading for 2013 entry
Both Kendrick & Reading had their Open Days on the same day last year, so perhaps it'll be the same again?
Also, a reminder that the 2013 Admissions Consultation ends on Wednesday 29th February.
I have replied to Kendrick's only as I'm "suprised and disappointed" that they didn't propose a similar catchment to Reading's-from what I can see, you can be miles away and still qualify-one of the postcode's in Alton! They have also included numerous Bucks and Slough postcodes-residents of which have other Grammars at their disposal. I'm unconvinced by the 'lowering standards' argument, as evidenced by Reading's equally excellent academic results.

Re: Admission to Grammars in Reading for 2013 entry
Whilst the DAs at Reading and Kendrick are not the same they are also not a different as all that. I have stripped out the commonality and you get left with the following in the 2 schools:-
Reading
RG9 1, RG9 2, RG9 3, RG9 4 & RG9 5
RG14 1, RG14 3, RG14 6 & RG14 7
RG26 3, RG26 4 & part of RG26 5 (north of A339)
RG27 0 & parts of RG27 8 & RG27 9 (north of M3)
GU15 1, GU15 2, GU15 3 & GU15 4
GU17 0 & GU17 9
GU19 5
GU46 6 & GU46 7
GU47 0, GU47 8 & GU47 9
SL4 4
SL5 0, SL5 7, SL5 8 & SL5 9
SL6 1, SL6 2, SL6 3, SL6 4, SL6 5, SL6 6 & SL6 7
Kendrick
RG9, RG21, RG24, RG26, RG27,.
RG22 6
RG23 8
RG291
GU14, GU15, GU16, GU17, GU18, GU19, GU20, GU46, GU47, GU51, GU52.
OX10 1,
OX49 5 (south of M40)
SL4, SL5, SL6, SL7, SL8,
SL1 5, SL1 6, SL1 7, SL1 8, SL1 9.
HP10 9, HP11, HP12, HP14 3.
so there are postcodes where Reading is more restrictive than Kendrick in RG, SL and GU, plus only Kendrick covers the HP ones and a couple of OX ones. The rest is the same.
You are right that is still a very big area for both.

Re: Admission to Grammars in Reading for 2013 entry
HI,
does anyone aware about the 11+ entrance test in Reading school. Some body mention that Reading school takes VR and NVR as combined paper, is it true? if this is the case how many question of VR and How much will about NVR.
Is Reading school follows the same pattern of exam like others grammar school.
Test will be Multiple choice or standard form?
How long the test will be for Maths, English and VR &NVR?
