APPENDIX 1
Designated Area
Places will be offered to applicants who are ranked high enough according to the entrance test scores and who reside within the designated area. Only if there are further places available will applicants who live outside the designated area be considered. This must be the applicant’s permanent home address with their parent(s) / carer(s) and the school will ask for documentary evidence to support the application. Applicants living outside the designated area who move into the area must inform their home LA of the change of address or, if moving to a new LA, must apply to the new LA. Only then can the preference for Kendrick School be ranked according to the designated area
The designated area covers post code districts and sectors wholly or partly within a 15 mile radius of Kendrick School as follows: All postcode districts entirely within a 12 mile radius Postcode districts or sectors wholly or partly up to a 15 mile radius Postcode sectors partly outside the 15 mile radius but which have the greater part within the 15 mile radius.

It's only Y10s doing the tours for the July one, so it will definitely be quieter than the September one when they have about half the school there.

Lol, yeah, it felt crazy when we went in 2007 (! How can it have been that long ago?!) and as far as I know it's just got busier each year. I'm going to try this September with my then y5 on the hopeful basis that lots of people will have already been in July ...

Exam day instructions have arrived - its all getting very real now. We are in the morning - not sure what we will do in the afternoon, she may just want to go to school but that might be too disruptive.

Us too. Morning is good gets it out of the way, pizza and wine (for adults  ) after in town. :P

Or maybe shell-shocked and home for a lie down.

The hardest bit is during the exam, what will we poor parents do? Females retail therapy, males bit early for a beer so back to work.

And, as the Cock crew, those who stood before
The Tavern shouted--"Open then the Door!
You know how little while we have to stay,
And, once departed, may return no more."
