Thought this might give us some idea of the number of candidates seeking the coveted 96 places this year (2013 entry).

No need to give scores as we had some idea of those a few months back.

A simple 'yes' would good if your Dd scored at least 109 in the test.

It's a 'yes' from us.

Yes plus 3 others from her school (that I know of), although one will not be taking her place even if offered one (borderline pass anyway)

109 is from a Normalised standard distribution - ~27% of candidates will have been given a score of 109 or above.

Yes, though we probably wouldn't accept it now if offered...I guess it's of interest to others to know how many wouldn't necessarily accept their place.

Going by memory, I believe that around 650 applicants sat the test. So around 180-190 would have got 109 or more. Last year, around 550 sat the test (from memory, so pls correct me if this is not right) and all the eligible applicants got the place i.e upto rank 150-160. Going by this, I would estimate that the cutoff this year would be around 110-112. However, if there were significantly less applicants from what is now OOC area, then the cut-off may go up; conversely, if there more more OOCs, then the cut-off may go down to even 109. Judging by the posts here, I feel that there are substantial number of OOC who got more than 109, but may be living near to other grammars (Slough or Bucks area) or have Tiffins/HBS as their higher preferences. Therefore, my estimate is 110-112. Only few more weeks to wait. Good Luck to every one.
