Hi Owes,

I have split this post from the 'historical offers' thread as you may get a few more replies.

My information is a couple of years out of date but......

Homework was consistent and usually 2 or 3 subjects per night.
Environment appeared to be fairly strict and formal within lessons but less so during form time etc. Form tutors seemed to be less formal during these times. There is an expectation that the rules will be obeyed.
There is always a certain amount of 'bullying' at every school but they seemed to deal with it well.
Hopefully some current parents can let you know more :)

Hi there,

My daughter is currently at SGS in year 8.

Firstly, we have not yet faced any bullying and one or two issues that cropped up were dealt with by the school in a very satisfactory manner.

Homework was manageable in year 7 but the pressure mounts up in year 8. As a grammar school you can imagine testing is quite regular. School is quite strict but I have not had any problems yet. I am very happy with the school - lots of positive changes in the last year.

Hope this helps.

RB
