Kendrick appeals?

We currently live abroad and DD has just been assessed as in the 96th - 97th percentile for all kids following the US curriculum worldwide (through the MAP test) and with a Lexile reading score of over 1200. So we have little doubt that she is bright and keen. But for various reasons we don't think she is likely to get a high enough score to be offered a place by Kendrick for 2014 (jet-lag for the test, no experience of living or studying in UK, little and probably inadequate test practice from me).
If she doesn't get a place, I am minded to move on and just take up a place in our excellent local school when we return to the UK next year. As people on this forum say "cream will rise to the top" and I think she will do fine there.
But I would appreciate advice on whether it might be worth considering an appeal to Kendrick. Does anyone have a sense if appeals are ever successful there? Or would it just mean dragging on the experience to the bitter end, with no real hope of success?
