2) Is this(positions) a highly significant difference? Honestly no idea at all.
No it isn't.

berks_mum,

looking for it, got one but has some issues of opening that from office so will have to try from home tonight.
But as far as I remember everyone says that about 25% goes to Oxbridge from QE (which is so called highest from state schools) and around 20%+/- from RBS, Tiffin, Wilson's, St. Olaves etc.

In the mean time

Another realistic pointer

Thanks

as expected not more than 20% of students whereas it's about 25% for QE :D

Gosh is there a link to any data that says 25% of Qe boys go to Oxbridge? I've not heard that one before. That said, either way if it is indeed the case, it reflects the intake of the school as much as the school itself surely? It can;t be extrapolated form any of this data that a Dc has more chance of getting into Oxbridge from one or other school. Indeed given that they are both very good schools surely whether DC is up to it is more likely to be the determining factor.

That would be 25% of the boys who are left in the sixth form, not 25% of the boys who enter in Y7, so not 45 but ? How many boys are there in Y13? DG

Thank you. So 40 boys leave at 16 out of 180 and 35 boys go to Oxbridge. Do we know the subject breakdown? I understand that the majority are medicine? DG

I think so, as per their brochure handed over during the QE visit for qualifying candidates.
