Kendrick/RBS/Slough full results, IC/OOC ranks using FOI

Post by berks_mum »

Following the information from the Hertfordshire/Latymer section, full results and ranking was received using FOI for Latymer school.
http://www.elevenplusexams.co.uk/forum/ ... 7&start=20

From my understanding similar information can be obtained for Reading/Kendrick/Slough schools. Has anyone requested/received this information using WhatDoTheyKnow?
I searched for Kendrick school and there is one request pending. I was unable to see the request. Anyone with more information please let us know.

Dear Kendrick School,

Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I am writing to request
the following information with regard to Kendrick School for girls
in Reading:

- the number of admission appeals heard for entry into Year 7 for
each of the previous 5 years, and
- the number of appeals that were successful in each of those
years.

Yours faithfully,

Mrs A.

I don't know what the total number of appeals has been, the number, but of successful ones in the last 5 years is zero to my knowledge. (Remembering back the the 'moving up to secondary' booklet we got etc).

From RBC Website......

Admission Number for September 2015 : 96
Number of applications for September 2014: 321
2012 Appeals - heard 5 : None granted
2013 Appeals - heard 11 : None granted
2014 Appeals - heard 3 : None granted

Forget appealing....'apparently the school is too small' each time!

Similar to what I saw when we applied 2 years ago. Zero successful.

To be fair, in some classrooms (that I've seen) there just isn't room to squeeze in another student. They have a point.

If anyone has a very high and close score, we won't know until March, and some exceptional extenuating circumstances then their are some weaknesses in Kendrick's case for not admitting. He said with hindsight......

I have the full list of scores for Reading School in PDF form. I can upload if someone tells me how to attach a file?

The standard deviations for VR, maths and NVR are 15. But the standard deviation for the total score is tighter at 13.3.

kara123, well done for getting the PDF. The FAQs on this website has some information about attachments. You may have read that already. Sorry, I don't know much more about it. May be you need to contact the admins/moderators. Meanwhile, is it possible to pm this information? I would like to receive it. Thanks.

Excellent news kara 123, well done :D

You can go to googledrive and upload the document and then you can get a link from there that you can simply paste here and when people in the forum clicks on it one can directly see the pdf file.

Is it possible to get the data in excel as well, that will be better in terms of sorting out data :)

Hi,

OK I think everyone should be able to see the PDF file via this link:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/mbzark0m0fe2w ... s.pdf?dl=0

You can cut/n/paste into Excel and analyse but you have to fix the page breaks. Sorry my computer went down so I've lost my working copy. Anyhow, the standard deviation for each section (VR/NVR/maths) is indeed 15 but it is interesting to see the standard deviation of the combined scores is 13.3. This is a about the same as what was seen for Latymer.

In terms of cut-off marks, I think it depends on how many boys are in catchment and put Reading first.

Enjoy
