Herschel have just put up the dates on their website.... so.....

11+ Exam Dates - Consortium (Langley, Herschel and St Bernards)

Pupils attending Slough Primary schools - Thursday 6th November 2008

Pupils not attending Slough Primary - Saturday 8th November 2008

If they follow last year then Slough grammar will have the following dates..

attending Slough Primary - Sat 8th Nov 2008

Not attending Slough Primary - Sat 15th Nov 2008

but these have not been confirmed.

Herschel's open evening is Tues 9th September 2008 5.45pm - 9pm

If I want my son to write both langley & herschel exams, does he have to write only one exam as they are both a part of consortium & the result will be used by both schools or do they both hold their exams separately.

He will only have to write 1 exam.....held at the first choice school you put on your Consortium application form.

the herschel link to their admissions page is as below.

http://studywiz.herschel.slough.sch.uk/ ... FkM&pid=20

From posts we had last year please be aware that Langley has historically had a cut off score of around 117 and Herschel 112 (even though 111 is a pass) through oversubscription.
It appears that if you put Langley first and Herschel second and achieve a score of 113 then there may be a chance of not getting an offer from either. This is because in the first round of allocations they send out to all 'first choice' applicants and you would remain on the waiting list for Langley without really any hope of getting in.
