I would like my son to sit the 11+ for entry to either St Bernards or Burnham Grammar. Does he have to sit different exams as they are in different LEAs? Any advice would be greatly received. Thanks

Yes Burnham Grammar is part of the Bucks 11+ system - you need to register if your child does not attend a Bucks Primary - see the Bucks section.
There are two VR papers, 80 questions in 50 minutes.

Yes, Def two exams.

St Bernards are in the 'Slough Consortium' and the exam consists of Verbal & Non-verbal.

This is taken from 'Herschel' website.....another of the 'Slough Consortium' schools

Pupils who have registered to sit the 11+ and who attend Slough primary schools will be tested in their schools on Thursday 6th November 2008. Pupils who attend primary schools outside the Slough area will be tested at their first choice grammar school on Saturday 8th November 2008.

The test consists of a Non Verbal Reasoning paper, 50 minutes in length preceded by a short practice test; and a Verbal Reasoning paper lasting 50 minutes
.

The papers are set by NFER and are multiple choice.

You register to take the exam with your first choice 'consortium' school....in your case St Bernards..... and also include the choice on your local Lea CAF (school choice form)
