The word one has been annoying me as well. In the end I had to google it! I was trying to take a letter away from the front of the word but it seems that the letter can be removed from anywhere - I would never have solved the puzzle anyway even realizing that.
Good puzzles though - wish I knew some to reciprocate with.

This is a joke from when I lived in the midlands (I think you need the local accent). Sadly, I have had to cheat slightly as a pencil is required to draw one of those fish we draw as children.
