I liked the 'old' Ofsted site where the schools were very clearly listed in terms of exact distance, too...but the Dfe has at least now provided a reasonable source of info to parents.
It is, however, not easy to find out about or arrive at via search engine, but at least by your posting the link on this forum, more parents will be aware of it.
