Post subject: When do they Peak
PostPosted: Fri Apr 13, 2007 7:21 am
With all the hard work that goes into getting the child to a grammar school, after having passed the 11+, I have met paernts whose children have peaked too early in their education.

Does anyone know how and when the education peak occurs, as it is something that is worrying.

It's a bit like the rabbit and the tortoise.

I don't think it is a lasting thing as such. The children have just covered Yr 6 and yr 7 curriculum if they have Maths and English grammar chool exams and so feel less stretched in their last year at juniors.

My son's teacher said jokingly to my son to carry on showing enthusiasm for the SATS prep and to work hard as she fears that he will find the work unchallenging after all his grammar school prep.

The summer term when it starts will include more SATS practice from school and suddenly, they pick up again, although some may say,are actually staying at the same level they were. As long as they don't slide back,I prefer they enjoy their last junior term.
