How preference choices and standardised scores work ?

Given the below scenario for two candidates and their choice of school selection I raised a query with LEA as to whether person 2 would be disadvantaged under this situation :

Candidate Score 1st LEA choice 2nd LEA choice
Person1 210 Sutton Girls Comprehensive
Person2 212 KEHS Sutton Girls

School Cut Off
Standardised Score
KEHS 213
Sutton Girls 210

Even though person 2 didn’t meet the criteria for KEHS as the standardised score (212) is below the cut off (213), she would not be disadvantaged in obtaining a place at Sutton due to her LEA choices.

Person2 would be offered a place at Sutton above person1 due to her having achieved a higher result.

yes - that is how it works if the child does not get an offer form their first choice school then this is disregarded and their second choice is considered to be their first

err deja vu ... like I said here :wink: http://www.elevenplusexams.co.uk/forum/ ... 49#p334549" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
