It looks like a proposed increase to 105 per year plus up to 15 boarders in 2015 plus the introduction of a catchment area

When I've tried to download the link it's not letting me :-(.
What is the catchment area they are proposing?

At a glance it looks the same as Newport Girls covering Newport and the surrounding areas. Boys in the catchment will be a higher priority than those outside the catchment. I'll try to post a direct link to the two files.

Sorry if sounds daft but if they introduce a catchment area and you are not in that area does preference then go to nearest to catchment area or is it that everyone out of the area stands the same chance? If you know what I mean??!

Hi onebigdilemma

it looks as though their admissions would be like Newport Girls is now-after all qualifying Newport boys have been offered places then out of catchment boys will be offered places in rank order of test score.

How populated is Newport? I'm quite glad they have changed enterance procedure as I can blame DS 2 not getting in on the new policy!!!

Ha, think I will do the same!!

It looks a large geographical area but I do not think very densely populated as Telford not included so just villages apart from Newport.
