I know that when you are going through it every point/ place ranking counts but I think you are worrying more than you should. All the schools created significantly more places this year: they should have to prioritise places for the most disadvantaged, otherwise they are just creating more places for better off children. At the end of the day we are talking about some of the best schools in the country - even if they reduce the QS it will not be ridiculously low. I doubt these pupil numbers will make up more than the extra places created recently. Many parents might still be put off sending them if the school is far from them.

Something had to change. It was quite ridiculous that those living on the doorstep of places like KEA and received inadequate schooling need to achieve the same score as those who lived in areas with better schools/parents who are privileged enough to think ahead. The 6 year rule is a good way to catch some these kids.
