Mrsowen

Don't apologise, I'm always interested to see what others have got and it's great your daughter got such a good score.

I'm confused!

How much can entry scores differ from year to year? Does anybody know what these were in 2013 and 2012 for AGS? For 2014 it was 314. :o

Hi,

I'm a bit new to all this so bare with me

My dd took the test for WGHS or NGHS and achieved a score of 344. Is that score high enough where we don't have to spent 6 months worrying about getting a place?

Thank god she's an only child as I couldn't go through this again

Thanks for any advice.

The cut of for AGS in 2013 was 301. For 2012 and earlier no score was given, only a ranking.

Blimey 2013, 301 and 2014, 314 for AGS
that is quite a point difference??
So cut off could in theory be 2015, 327????

A score of 344 will certainly gain your dd a place at WGHS.I don't know too much about your other school including catchment criteria if any.

However much it may be obvious that one's DC has a place at a school for the asking - or not - according to the score, actual allocation of places is made by your LA, which will allocate a place at the school which you have ranked highest on your CAF for which your DC qualifies. The schools themselves are not allowed to offer places directly in the main allocation round.

Apart from new Free Schools whose admissions system has not yet been integrated into the LA's - and Thomas Telford, apparently :?
