B'ham/Warks - different standardisations?

Re: B'ham/Warks - different standardisations?
I stand corrected KenR.
So basically if during the application process a parent didn't show an interest in Warwickshire schools they can still, at a later date, apply to a school in Warwickshire consortium.
Is this also true the other way round?

Re: B'ham/Warks - different standardisations?
Do we know how many children took the test for both regions?
KenR - if they are standardising together for both regions, how will the ranking be reported for Warwickshire schools?

Re: B'ham/Warks - different standardisations?
How do you know they will provide rankings this year? 2 years ago Warks changed the weightings and no-one knew until the results came out! As its all change this year, have Warks or Brum actually said what info they will provide parents with??

JD - I though Warwickshire provided rankings every year. One of posters also mentioned that in a recent post after contacting the FO.

Yes, they have previously but that doesn't mean they will continue to do so now they are taking the same test as those in Brum ...

But again, as you said, it's quite possible the reporting will be pretty much the same for both regions with no ranking provided at all.

So, I had started to assume 2 letters, sent out from B'ham and Warks on different dates, with 2 different scores (the Warks one containing ranking info for Warks) - any of which may or may not be the case. I'm pretty sure I read that at least one person has rung both offices on this sort of issue because each office suggested ringing the other one for clarification. It does seem odd that it should be hard to find out what is what
Of course, I have not yet gone to the effort of ringing anyone!

Re: B'ham/Warks - different standardisations?
5300 registered for Brum and 2200 through Warks.
I was under the impression Warks would be providing rankings (an assumption as this is how they have done it previously. Can't remember what my warks info says)
We had to register in Warks, but asked for Brum score too, as our first choice is a Brum score. It will be interesting to compare both scores. (Second choice is warks)

Re: B'ham/Warks - different standardisations?
Well, if what KenR explained is correct, then it will be the same SD score for both regions, as they will standardising together for 7500 children.
I am wondering if that will then kind of screw up any comparisons with previous cut- off scores as you will have more candidates on each SD point.
KenR - What do you think?
