I believe their A level results are fairly decent.
KHES offer A levels; KES does not.
A level results at CHB are fairly decent too and it is free!  Moreover, IB will suit some kids but not others so some parents transfer their child from KES to CHB if they obtain a place if they feel that their child will perform better in 3 A levels subjects rather than the broad IB. In fact, some parents regret not to have done this move as their child has not obtained the course at university they wished for.

It is all down to results! If for example a pupil is at Handsworth boys GS (which is FAR BETTER than many comprehensive schools!) but he has been accepted to do his sixth form at FW, parents will move him there. As simple as that!

AIUI KES haemorrhages quite a lot of boys at the end of Y11, IB is not to everyone's taste. Since quite a few of daughter's friends would dearly love to do IB and a lot of KES boys would love to do A-levels you'd think KEHS and KES could work out some sort of joint 6th form programme but it appears not to be contemplated.

Joint 6th form would be the answer and would give them all the IB/A level choice Seeing how much much angst there was over a mixed school bus in the 70's I can't see it happening quite yet.
