Hi everyone, and happy New Year!

Has anyone any knowledge of the creative writing element of the KES entrance exam? If anyone can remember what type of thing has been set in previous years it would be a great help. I've no experience of independent entrance so I've absolutely no idea what son can expect and no idea how to prepare him.

A bit last minute but my brain isn't back in gear yet...

This is what I was told by former pupils but being 11 year old boys doesn't make them the most reliable source on earth.

2007 -Someone tells a lie and it causes lots of problems. Does this character own up or does he hope that no one realises he’s responsible?
Write about this person and what happens?

2008 - People own weird pet that is causing trouble. Had to write from pet’s or family’s point of view. 30mins.

Interesting essays. Not sure you could predict what could come this year from these two but you can at least see the type of essay they want.
