Hi..Is anyone else having problems getting their DC scores for the King Edwards Grammar schools?

I hand delivered a letter to the foundation office two weeks ago got nothing back. I phoned last week and they said the letter had been mislaid, but they would post it out. I rang yesterday and could not get through to the registrations office and had to keep on leaving details and then a contact number and was assured that someone would ring..Never got a call.

I rang up today and was told they are extremely busy and having TROUBLE POSTING THE LETTERS...what a lame excuse.

All the other schools were great at sending my DS results..These so called office for the greatly over rated KE Grammars are a nightmare to deal with..

On what basis do you say the KE Grammars are greatly over-rated? The league tables and the number of people wanting to attend these schools don't seem to agree with your assesment. I'm intrigued to hear your reasons.... may be a help to those who are sending their kids there. I'm surprised you entered your kid for the exam if you don't rate the schools - and even more surprised that you are so keen on knowing the results bearing this in mind?

It's my personal opinion and i am entitled to it.

Just as you are with your opinions, which i personally do not care about or want a debate about!

If i wanted a debate on that opinion i would have had it as the topic.

I also recall when my nephew had a problem with the invigilator in the QM test, you was only concerned about yourself!!

So if you want a debate on any issues start the topic and i may want to join in or i may not.

My DS sat the test as a bit of practice for his second choice..we had the KE grammars as our last couple of choices and is entitled to his score as i promised him a little bonus if he passed all the tests he done and he just needs this last one for 100% . Not that it's any of your business anyway.

Hmmm.. quite an interesting response there. If you read my mail again, you will find that that I was actually polite and didn't demand a reply from you. So I wonder what can be judged from your reply? Over-reaction? Chip on your shoulder? Or just a rude person? Take your pick....bye (Ps: I' won't sending any more replies to this thread).

I expect they're dealing with waiting list enquiries, appeals and other trivial stuff. I'm sure they'll drop all that and get right onto it if you let them know how urgent it is that your son get his reward.

I think Mike was being a shade sarcastic.

Some children have not had any of their choices and obviously they should take priority on any inquiries made.

They don't normally tell you the child's scores if he has passed the test, so what are you rewarding him for? Or have you terrified them so much they are making an exception for you?

KES Parent all Grammar School give you the results whether they have gained a place at that particular school or not.

King Edwards was not my son 1st choice or 2nd choice or 3rd choice but he has every right to know how he performed in the test.

No exceptions made, have not terrified anyone. I was pleasant and i know my rights to my sons information and score.

If my DS has got a score that would have given him a place at King Edward as well this means a lot to him. And it is DS that is asking for his test results it means a lot to him.

End of story i think this is getting a little too personal... all i wanted to know was if anyone else was having trouble getting the scores from King Edwards Foundation Office.

Just for your information the only reason you do not get your child's scores for the KE schools is if your child has gained a place at one of their schools. My DS did not because he got his 1st choice which was not a KE School.

And whether i reward my DS for his efforts is my business.
