SHF case papers and appeal numbers

Hi everyone!

Just got SHF case papers for the forthcoming appeal. The LEA says that as of 15 June 2009 they offered 31 places for year 8 entry- 1 for sibling and the other 30 that live up to a distance of 5.09 miles. So we don't stand much chance anyway - as although we are in catchment, and SHF is one of only 2 catchment grammars, we are being penalised for being too far away from the school. And apparently 23 children are appealing for 12+ places at SHF. And we have found out (by their error) that 4 people are applying for places in yeaar 9 for SHF.

Unhappy......

Hi dejavu,

how do you know the number of pupil appealing? Was the info in the pack?

Thanks

No, it wasn't in the pack. I got my husband to do something - now he is actually back in the country, for once- and phone up admissions. A friend told us they would have to tell us the number of appeals.

Rash - I thought you were all sorted with places - and at least have a grammar school place - unlike us!

I do wish you well -

I wonder if all places were accepted or if some have appeals for other schools ...
