Results time getting nearer!!

Post by heartmum »

Had a panic moment, looked at my wall calendar for November (foolish I know) and realised in just under five weeks' the results of my DD's 11+ is released ... just when I thought my stress levels couldn't get any higher :!:

Hi Heartmum

Try to stay calm and forget about it for the moment. Whenever I thought about the looming date I used to recite to myself the mantra: "That is a dark thought, and I am going to stop thinking it RIGHT NOW!" I would then focus on something of immediate importance, such as the melting cucumber at the bottom of the fridge (a dominant presence in my life, as long-standing Forum members will know! :D).

If you worry about it from now on you will be in a state of complete collapse by late November. There is nothing that you can do to change the result, so just focus on your child's "best other options" and reassure yourself (and your child) that whatever happens, it will all be OK for the future.

If you don't get the right result the future may not seem perfect immediately, but things do have a way of working themselves out in the end. After a few years around here, I can honestly say that.

Good luck - and go check the fridge! :D

P.S. If you edit your Signature in your Profile to put some spaces between the "x"s, it will appear as you want it to.

This is the bit that amazed me last year. We are still building up to the actual test here and yet our results come out the same time.

yes (actually fresh from a nasty cucumber moment and something which I think used to be a butternut squash bought with wild optimism and now making friends in the compost bin) at least we only have a 2 week wait, a mere 346 hours or so...

Thanks for the words of wisdom Sally-Anne :) .. thinking of cleaning out the kitchen cupboards, the state of those at the moment will keep me busy for a good long time!
