RGS sibling rule

Sorry if this has already been discussed but I would be grateful if someone could confirm that RGS (as a foundation school and therefore with their own admission rules) consider a sibling to be any boy who has an older brother on the roll of the school at the time of admission. My DS2 will be in Year 12 when my DS3 starts year 7 and I have read and re-read the Transfer to Secondary School booklet to make sure I am not missing something - I had been under the impression that we would not benefit from the sibling rule because of the age gap between my boys. Can someone make my day and confirm that I am reading it correctly!!

These are the admission rules for day places at RGS (the bold type is mine):
Over-subscription Criteria for Day Places
If there are more eligible applications received than places available at the Royal Grammar School, then places will be allocated in accordance with the following criteria:
1. Boys in Care.
2. Boys living in the catchment area of the school.
3. Brothers of boys on the roll of the school at the time of allocation.
4. Boys who have exceptional medical or social needs supported by written evidence from a doctor, social worker, educational welfare officer or other
appropriate person.
5. Once the rules above have been applied, then any further places will be offered in distance order, using the distance between the family’s normal home address
and the school’s nearest entrance gate, offering the closest first. We use the shortest appropriate route as measured according to the Buckinghamshire County
Council’s Geographical Information System.
6. Where the school can take some, but not all, of the boys who qualify under one of these rules, priority will be given to boys by taking account of the next rule in the numbered list to decide who has priority for places.
7. In cases where there is one remaining place and the next child on the waiting list is one of a twin, triplet or other multiple birth group, the following will apply:
Both twins (if boys) will be admitted (or all male siblings in the case of multiple births) even if this goes above the admission number of the school.
Sibling
A sibling is a brother. For admission purposes we mean one of two or more individuals who have one or more parent in common, or any other child (including an
adopted child) who permanently lives at the same address and for whom the parent also has parental responsibility.
I have double checked against the school's determined admissions policy which was subjected to a consultation process this year. You can read it for yourself here:

A sibling is a brother in the school, simple as that. There is no age limit.

Yes indeed - you are very lucky that RGS is a foundation school and is therefore at liberty to adopt a common-sense approach to this issue!
Not so the GS attended by our daughters, which has its hands tied by BCC's own illogical and questionably implemented policy on 6th-form siblings - and so we had to go to appeal over it.
(Fortunately we won.
)

Hmm, they would be in violation of the Admissions Code if they're giving preference to boys with brothers in Year 13 at allocation time, who would have left the school before the younger brother starts. Not mummog's case, though.

Yes, that's true -
- it should read "at the time of admission of the younger child" in order to comply with the Code.
