Testing Venue

Hi All,

We live in Slough and are considering Burnham Grammar School. We have just received correspondance from Bucks CC advising us the test dates and venues.

They have given us dates over the half term but the venue for the test is all the way in Aylesbury. This is a 60 mile round trip which we will have to do on two days.

I have rung the council to try and get the venue reallocated but they did not give much hope that they could change the venue already given.

I was just wondering if anyone else has a similar issue to us

I can't believe that they only seem to be using Aylesbury. Buckinghamshire is a very big county and does have other towns... :?

There are other testing centers but I was informed that they are all full and Aylesbury was allocated to us by their computerised system

If they can't change the venue now, you might try calling Admissions a couple of days ahead to see if they have had a cancellation. People do pull out.

Aylesbury is just crazy from Slough!

...and I thought computerised systems were meant to be more efficient?

That's a good idea from Sally-Anne. Fingers crossed for your DC.

Just out of interest - does anyone know where the other testing centres are?

our DS sat his 12+ in the summer and we had to go up to Aylesbury from very near Slough. Assuming of course that you have a car - It is a very easy drive, and parking is very easy too. We have had to do it several times in fact and each time has been very easy - including at 'rush' hour.
