Hi,

I am new here and so am a little confused. Is this forum run by Bucks LEA? If not, are any of the moderators from Bucks LEA?

If so, is there an independent forum for eleven plus in buckinghamshire?

Regards & thanks

Welcome to the forum.

It is independent and not run or moderated by Bucks LEA (or any other LEA)

Hi naelm, and welcome!

The site is owned by a parent who started it back in 2004 when his son was going through the 11+, and there was no information on the web. (I was in the same situation at the time, and there really was absolutely nothing out there.) It remains essentially the only active forum dedicated solely to the 11+ on the internet. The site is non-profit making - all profits are ploughed back into developing the site and offering 11+ practice materials at the lowest possible prices in our bookshop.

All the Moderators are volunteers and, with the exceptions of Patricia (a very experienced Bucks tutor) and Etienne (an ex-appeal panel member), we are all parents whose children have gone through the 11+ in recent years.

We are certainly not employees of Bucks CC!! They would laugh wryly at the mere suggestion because they occasionally get some flak on this section, although we do also send them "virtual bouquets" when they get things right under difficult circumstances. As an example, last year's Bucks appeals were seriously disrupted by snow and the appeals department coped magnificently with an almost impossible workload, so I had no hesitation in thanking them on here on behalf of the many parents who they worked so hard for by rearranging postponed appeals. Credit where credit is due.

However we are completely independent in every way, as yoyo has said so much more pithily!
