They do three tests - the first one is easier than the real thing, the second and third are the same sort of difficulty as the real one, so if he only has one more to go 71/80 sounds pretty good to me. I think they are called practice test A and then Practice tests 1 & 2, but I could be wrong about that, I'm sure Patricia will confirm.

Absolutely correct.

All tests must be completed in order test A followed by test 1 and then 2.

we've just recently went to the open evening events in schools in bucks the AGS school was very good but i feel it was more of a theartrical school as it specializes in art and theartre which is all good if your ds is interested in this also the boys grammer looked very strict which is allso good and has more speciality in science and have more lessons in broad languages.it is very confusing even now that we have gone to the schools as i can not make my mind up of which to put on the application as a first choice! how can i decide please help any one ! my ds liked the AGS but i am sure he is better off in the boys grammer school should i listen to him or shall i decide for him. hopefully he passes first!

Theoretically, as 2001 is such a low birth year, would the raw score required to pass potentially go down as less children are sitting the test?

Probably counterbalanced by very high rates of tuition! Do you mean because there may be fewer children to fill the grammar school places? I don't think that's how it works, but I'm not sure.

I just wondered if less children sitting the exam would make any difference to the raw score required to pass but I guess it's all to do with how bright the cohort is not how many sit the exam that has an effect on the raw score required? The phrase 'clutching at straws' spring to mind!

AGS is Aylesbury GS and that is all boys .. so I'm confused!

Did you mean that SHF 'The Floyd' is all performing arts? It also has Science specialism -it is increasingly popular in recent years.

I think it depends if you want 'all boys' or a smaller 'mixed' school.

your right guest55
I ment the AGS is more suited for him from my point of view because they specialize in maths and science which he enjoys the most, but he likes the SHF,I dont know if my choice will be the right one.Has any one been in my shoes, and went with your choice? and was that decision the right one!
