hi

our son has got in Dr Challoners GS. We are thrilled...we live in northwood and have heard of trouble/bullying for some boys from other schools travelling by train...this is concerning as we hoped that our son could travel alone...does anyone know of anything or any pointers for this...thks inadvance...

I can't help wondering how your son got a place in first round allocations when, as I understand it, you live so far out of catchment - presumably he won't be going into year 7, in which case, safety may be less of a concern anyway.

I have DS at Challoner's and although they don't get the train, a few friends do and I've not heard of problems.

Zee - This year, places at DCGS have been allocated to children living over 11 miles out of catchment. Possibly due to more stingent eligibilty criteria regarding home address.
This will probably extend further with subsequent allocation rounds.

Bear - I don't know of boys travelling from as far away as you, but some girls come into DCHS from that direction and I have heard of no problems on the train/tube.
