Current parents have received an email today as follows:
As the school has become more successful, we have increased in size and from September we will have had a five form entry for the last three years.
In terms of student numbers, the current Year 9 remains a small year and there is an opportunity for us to admit a small additional number of students without either overcrowding classes or having to put additional classes into the timetable.
We are testing students for a small number of additional places in next year's Year 10 on Thursday June 16th 2011. If you are aware of Year 9 students who may benefit from an education at Burnham Grammar School, I would be grateful if you could pass this information to their parents and ask them to contact Mrs Evans (email@example.com
) at the school before Tuesday 14th June.
This process will not affect the quality of learning that next year's Year 10 will experience as class sizes will be no larger than they have been for the current year, or will be for next year's Year 11, nor will it affect allocation of option choice subjects that our current students have already made."
Don't know if this is useful to anyone, but thought it worth putting on here.
