Can you please help me with the closest meaning?

(Scarce, Scarecrow, Farce)
(Able, Abundant, Feud)

(Iron, Burn, Scorched)
(Package, Dehydrate, Unusable)

Also, two odd ones out among

break, demolish, fall, knock, shatter

I'm not sure about the closest in meaning questions but I think the two odd ones out would be fall and knock.
Break, demolish and shatter can all mean destroy.

Hi

I'd agree with KiwiMum on the odd ones out.

Here's my suggestions for the first two;

(Scarce, Scarecrow, Farce)
(Able, Abundant, Feud)

Are you sure these are not opposites? In which case I'd go do Scarce and Abundant.

(Iron, Burn, Scorched)
(Package, Dehydrate, Unusable)

My guess for these closest meanings would be Scorched and Unusable.

These seem particularly hard questions. I don't think I've come across these, even in Walsh. Which paper are they from?

Thanks a million. I do not know which book it is from, but it was a typed material passed on from a friend of mine. I was just going through the papers to get ready to teach my DD who will be taking exam next year and I found this.
