Dr Challoner’s Entrance Criteria

I heard on the grape vine that Dr Challoner’s are going to completely remove their catchment area criteria. I have no idea if there is any truth in this or even if and when it will happen. Has anyone heard anything similar?

I would say that this is very, very unlikely to be true.

When DCGS framed their own late entry Admissions Policy a couple of years ago, the first priority was boys living in catchment, followed by highest score in the tests. (I have omitted the usual statutory social/SEN priorities for simplicity.)

Also, the Head has beefed up their Admissions Policy to prevent address fraud by people renting in the area. Both of these points suggest to me that he views local boys to be a priority.

Catchment boys are definitely still a priority in their 2013 Admissions Policy.
