Burnham to RGS Wycombe

For a number of reasons, we think RGS Wycombe would be a better fit for our DS. Even though we live close to Burnham Grammar. According to the Bucks CC website, in 2011, the allocation profile is showing as 'All offered'. This sounds hopeful to us - does this mean that everybody who passed the test and wanted to join RGS could do so in 2011? What are the chances of our son being accepted to RGS from Burnham? Has this happened in the past? Any information much appreciated.

In September 2011 (for the first time in living memory ) RGS was actually undersubscribed, so, yes, if you put down the school and achieved the qualifying score you were offered a space. The school did further testing in October 2011 and offered places to another 20-ish boys in January 2012. As far as I am aware this has never happened before.

For September 2012 the usual admission criteria came into play - catchment, distance, brother etc. and not all applicants were offered a place. This link may help http://www.buckscc.gov.uk/bcc/schools/a ... iles.page?

The journey would be awful too - can't you move nearer?

We're actively considering moving - we've got to get a move on though. It's for September 2013. I think we need to move before we fill out the CAF form.

Also I used to drive from our house to Cressex Business Park for work. It would take about 30 mins on average. This was back in 2007; I don't know if traffic's got worse since then.
