Dear All

Out of interest...

I have just discovered that the Late Transfer Test for John Hampden will be the CEM testing process, from the University of Durham.

Quote:
The test will comprise of two papers of approximately 45 minutes each in duration. The papers will test verbal reasoning and non-verbal reasoning, mathematical ability and an understanding of English comprehension. The tests are administered by CEM, from the University of Durham.

I am not aware of any other Grammar in Bucks using this test for the Late Transfer, yet...

The extract above is from a letter sent to parents who have asked to take the late transfer test for John Hampden

Yes it is new. Back in June they were still using the Bucks VR test ( I taught a child who had just come back from America) they changed to Maths and English over the summer holidays, then out of the blue changed again to the CEM test.

I am teaching 2 children the CEM test at the moment.

It occurred to me that this may be a "test run" for the new 11 plus.

Have to say I'd certainly prefer that to the current exam - a far broader assessment of ability than just VR would seem fairer.

Hi there!
Just wondering patricia if you know when the John Hampden Late Transfer test for 13 plus is going to take place?
Is it going to be the usual time i.e. February
And when the deadline is to register your child.
Thank you kindly

Hi Hashbrown

The test is Tuesday 29 January.

Deadline 1 December.

You could perhaps ring John Hampden.

Dear Patricia
Thanks for the quick reply.
However, disappointed that I missed the deadline. The problem was that no information was given on the website, therefore I just assumed that the time would be similar to RGS in terms of dates and deadlines.
Now I don't know if they will take anymore applications as its already been gone five days. Well I'll just have to phone and find out.

Thank you for your help
