ds1 is quite good at reinventing the lyrics of songs to put a new twist on them, so I thought he might quite enjoy the task of coming up with poetic versions of some official notices. This is his take on the "check for nits" lettter.

Are there creepy crawlies in your hair?
Please have a look in case they're there.
If you find them, kill them quick;
Some chemicals and a comb will do the trick.
The head reminds you that she's said
"Don't come back until they're dead.
You know that when our school's lice free,
It is a nicer place to be."

Not opening for those taking public exams seems very unfair to those students who have worked hard to prepare and could make it into school safely. Also to notify them of this in a flippant rhyme undiplomatic to say the least. Hopefully those in charge will be apologising to those students penalised by this decision. All other senior schools in Bucks
that have decided to close are open for those students taking public exams.

Don't mean to be a misery as in general I think these rhymes are great.

Princes Risborough School:

Tuesday School Open

Hours done with our shovels and spade,
Significant difference now has made.
The school will open tomorrow morn,
Everything is indeed back to norm.
So now the only change - if it suits -
Is that you’re allowed to wear some boots.
Tie and blazer are still required;
School reputation must be admired!

I checked on this and I gather that the public exam children were notified directly of the change to arrangements some while before the snow poem was published.

Garnettt: Well spotted! You are getting into the swing of things very nicely here on Bucks! :lol:
