The places are for BHS and the girls are both going to Wycombe Abbey - one has a scholarship. No shortage of cash in either family. They took the 11+ for exam practice. quite a few seem to at my daughter's independent school.

No, just expected the Grammar schools to be outstanding!!!
Maybe not all are. I expected BGS to be outstanding.

Many Bucks GS have a very old Ofsted report. Some have outstanding which is not now graded as such because the teaching was 'only' graded 'good'.

The latest Framework has raised the bar considerably ...

An ofsted grading is not everything ... look at more evidence than this when choosing a school - Ofsted measurements are limited.

Probably worth also considering that ofsted look at what the school starts with and what the children achieve from there. We have a local comp with excellent results but with two outstanding feeder schools rated as "satisfactory" whilst the church school, with a much wider and diverse catchment - and fewer top exam grades is rated outstanding !
