Can anyone advise on the standard of these papers as compared with the 'real' test?

Dear Jayne

The real tests are of the same difficulty as the in school practice papers 1 and 2 [ the 5 familiarisation sessions and test A are of an easier standard ]

I believe the Bright Sparks compare very favourably to tests 1 and 2.

Thank you for the prompt reply.

According to Susan Daughtrey the papers in the Bright Sparks packs are of varying ability. Do you know if Paper 4 (Pack 1) is the equivalent of Paper 8 (Pack 2) ? or do they progress from 1-8 in order?

Dear Jayne

I would assume 1-4 are graded in the same way 5-8 are graded.

In addition the first pack has been out for a couple of years, I don't think Susan Daughtrey would release 4 tests that are much easier than the real thing, followed by 4 more [harder] tests this year.

Personally I do not think there is a great difference in difficulty between the tests. Certainly my students have had a varying success with them. I believe, much of the time it comes down to which types the child prefers or finds easy.
