Hi All,
I live in Slough, I pushed my son hard for Bucks - CEM test. But didn't prepare him for QE boys tests.

I got the result yesterday around [edited by moderator] the CEM expected 121 mark- very happy on that yesterday.
I got the QE boys marks (without preparing), he is just short by 3 marks compared to the last year lowest selected mark - bit unhappy on that,

Most unlucky thing is that even he is [edited by moderator] the expected bucks score,
there is no school (I found) we can apply, because we are not living inside the catchment of any of these buck schools.

If I allowed my kid 1 week for QE type papers, he could have got it.
Now then do you know any of the Buck school which I can apply which they dont consider catchment please.

Thank you
Anne.

See this post viewtopic.php?f=12&t=34241 and many others

You should edit out the scores as they are irrelevant in Bucks as long as the magic 121 is achieved. Have a look through the Bucks section. Many people have asked the same question.

Thanks in that case,
What happens if I move next week close to the relevant school by renting a house.
Do you have any idea on the dates then,
Anne

At least one (Dr Challoners) has strict rules (look on the school website) & your son would not be eligible.

The deadline for providing evidence of your normal home address is Friday 14th November.

Please be aware that renting temporary accommodation to gain a school place is address fraud.

If you intend to return to live in Slough you risk your child's school place being withdrawn.

Bucks CC, in common with all other Admissions Authorities, take this issue very seriously.

If you live in Slough you would probably get into Burnham. Just look at the previous allocations - they generally go out a long way!
