Every Bucks senior school now uses "as the crow flies" for measurement. The only exception last year was Becky High, who retained the old "driving distance" method of measurement for one year.

Just get out your map and a ruler. Websites can be used to confirm that distance, if you wish, but an OS map is far more accurate and reliable. I have seen websites churn out some extraordinarily silly distances on occasions.

Hi South Bucks do you know why the allocation distances will be greater this year than others?

I dont know, no one knows, it is just gossipy speculation, trawl through the bucks threads and you can assess the situation for yourself. :D but stop fretting for goodness sakes, your dc has passed, therefore will in all probability gain a place at gs somewhere in Buckinghamshire, if that is what you want for them, and there are no bad gs options here. :D
