Re: 8 Days.. Countdown begins /nerves kick in..Bucks results
Hi
Feeling very nervous for Friday.
Please can some year 7 parents let us know what to expect in the letter. Is the envelope thicker if it has review paperwork? Sorry just I will get the letter after school and good to know what to expect.
Thanks everyone

DS qualified - The letter came home from school in an envelope. One piece of paper - lots of writing - individual scores for verbal, NVR and numerical plus overall STTS score and a bit of blurb saying as **** score is over 121 we will consider your applications for grammar schools.jabba7 wrote:Hi

Hi,
I'm sure there are posts regarding this but just a quick question, is the result the average of both papers or do they still have to pass one out of two like before?
Thanks

Sorry cross post with kittymum, so is this total for both papers (ie VR, NVR, NR) and an average obtained from them.

No average no.hasmum wrote:Sorry croSs post with kittymum, so is this total for both papers (ie VR, NVR, NR) and an average obtained from them.
VR - 50% so total score x .5
NVR - 20% so total score x .2
numerical - 30% so total score x .3
STTS = sum of 3 scores.
Essentially think of it as 1 paper they sit with a break in the middle

Jabba
Son number two had a big bulging envelope and his low score was written on blue paper.
NOT! They are all the same, if you choose to review you send off for a set of forms.
Now stop worrying and whittling or I will personally cone round and slap your legs.
Go and do some retail therapy....it's Italian week at lidls from Thursday....yum!
Hasmun
Read the parent information on the bucks county council web site it explains all about the 20/30/50 breakdown there.

Thanks kittymum.

So they do give the total score as STTS?
May be a silly question - What does STTS stand for - is it Standardised Score? Why 2 T's?
Another jargon commonly used is CAF for filling the form - what is this called?
Just getting my head around all these Abbreviations that I am not familiar with.

STTS = secondary transfer test score - Bucks always refers to 11+ as secondary transfer testabc72 wrote:So they do give the total score as STTS?
