Re: Commute From Uxbridge to Royal Grammer School High Wycom
Its a mile walk - up a hill I think - from the station to the school.
On top of a frankly ridiculous combination train journey.
Like I said - move house ! Really not fair on the child otherwise IMHO!

You can't get directly to Wycombe from Harrow on the Hill. That's on Aylesbury line. You would need to travel back to Baker Street then walk to marylebone for high Wycombe. Or go to Aylesbury and get a bus. Or drive to Denham and get train to Wycombe. Whichever way it's a ludicrous journey I'm afraid.

Bus from Uxbridge to West Ruislip and the Chiltern line from West Ruislip to High Wycombe, then walk. About an hour & a half. Could also do it on various bus combinations with walks in between. Still not practical for 7 years.

It is a steep walk from Wycombe station the RGS.....many commuters do it, but not a great journey for a weary child after a very early start and a long intense day at school. Then to come home and be bright enough to do his homework.......not a good combination.......moving is the best option .dollyx

I see OP has gone to ground ... or maybe still enroute from home to the school.
Re: Commute From Uxbridge to Royal Grammer School High Wycom
Poor OP probably feels attacked, but sadly we see this year after year where people gain a place at a grammar school (any GS, just to get a GS), possibly at the expense of local children and then wonders how to get there. Some haven't even visited, it is just the holy grail of a GS. I wonder if the OP has a back up plan as the journey really isn't practical.

You are correct. It's worse than I thought!Lillie wrote:You can't get directly to Wycombe from Harrow on the Hill. That's on Aylesbury line. You would need to travel back to Baker Street then walk to marylebone for high Wycombe. Or go to Aylesbury and get a bus.
(Been a while since I used that line.)
