Cloze test timing and numbers of questions

Post by Optimist »

Hi

I have asked this question before but have been unable to get a response.

Can anyone advise for the sept 2013 and sept2014 Cloze tests, how much time was allocated to each passage, ie word bank Cloze 3 mins

Any help is much appreciated, given exams are next month

Whatever the timings were in 2013 and 2014 you can't tell what they will be this year ...

Guest55 is right. Every year the exam is designed deliberately to be different (hence the 'untutorable' tag) and cloze tests can take different forms.
What's more there isn't always a cloze test and one of my DCs who sat Bucks CEM 2013 says they remember that there wasn't one in their test (cannot guarantee reliability here mind).

There deffo has been a cloze both years in bucks. I cannot be sure of the timing but both my boys said they had ample time to complete it, even the boy who struggled terribly with timing in other components of the test. The 2013 was word bank, I cannot say what 2014 was as children are still taking late tests this coming week. As others have posted the cloze will probably change in length, duration and style or may even not be included at all.
