Just checking in to say hi (my DD - youngest, so last to go through this, got her results last year...)
If I might be so presumptuous ... here's my advice, having been through it three times, and with differing results.
They know it matters - so you can't hide it. They'll have discussed it at school and nothing you can say will make them believe it doesn't matter.
That said, don't go overboard, either way, when you get the results.
If they're what you want - great. Say, "well done, let's go out for dinner."
If they're not what was hoped for - smile in commiseration. Say, "well done, let's go out for dinner."
Don't dwell on it with them at that point - find something (e.g. going out for dinner) to distract them.
Good luck to all. It's a nerve-wracking time, but in the end, hard-working children will succeed regardless, especially if they're bright - even if this twisted system doesn't recognise it at their age!
