Re: Moving to Bucks.
I found this through google: http://www.buckscc.gov.uk/education/sch ... ol-places/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Do take all data like this with a pinch of salt. There are so many variables that can change each year; demographics, trends in parental choice, travel options, extra 'bulge' classes here and there, etc. Making a decision based upon past allocations carries an element of risk and as others have said, you must make sure you have an Upper option you are happy with as well. Even if your son's confidence is well-placed, you might find yourself on a waiting list for a grammar school place in later allocation rounds.

The number of places allocated in each further round is never published.sooperdad77 wrote:I remember seeing it in the old bucks website. But with the beta version, I am not seeing it anymore . Sally's spreadsheet is very useful. But it does not tell the no if places.

Thanks Sally.
Do you know where to see the 2nd round, 3rd round .. allocations in the bucks website.
When is the last date to move to buck to get counted for later allocations?
thanks.

I don't think 2016 is on the Bucks website now - past years are on Sally-Anne's spreadsheet. No doubt she will get round to updating 2016 when she can.
Re: Moving to Bucks.
Also like finance, you can't guarantee what will happen in the future with allocations based on what has happened in the past. At best it is a guide.
Eg An OFSTED visit to one school can increase or reduce the number of applicants and that can in turn impact other schools, new housing estates being built, schools deciding to have a bulge year, changes of key staff.

Which of the Wycombe area grammar schools that you've visited particularly appeals? They are all very different and have different historical allocation profiles.sooperdad77 wrote:Thanks guest55. Planning to move near high Wycombe.
Is there anyway to find the no of places allocated after first round with the distance.

Re: Moving to Bucks.
As Guest55 says, they aren't published. From the wording and distances on the allocation profiles, I can guess the following with a pretty high chance of being right:sooperdad77 wrote:Do you know where to see the 2nd round, 3rd round .. allocations in the bucks website.
Second round: JHG offered 2 places, one of which was FSM; RGS offered 1 place. Both the distance places were within very close range of the schools - well under 2 miles.
Third round: JHG made no offers; RGS made one offer, again within a very close range of the school.
17th March 2017.When is the last date to move to buck to get counted for later allocations?
Re: Moving to Bucks.
Do bear in mind, sooperdad, that you are extremely unlikely to be the only parent chasing a second/third round place. All it takes is twenty parents to be moving around this time and your odds of a successful place gamble will plummet.... So look extra hard at the Upper School options near to you as your child may well end up going there.
Re: Moving to Bucks.
Which Upper in the area are you looking at as plan B?
That is quite a challenge ...
