Burnam Grammar / Beconsfield Grammar School query
Hi
Need advise - does anyone know the cut-off score for Burnam Grammar & Beconsfield Grammar School?
We live in Hounslow and both schools are 1/2 hour drive from where we live.
Any info. about how these schools are in academics/sports/specializations would be helpful, while we are considering the CAF form.
Thank you in advance.

I think your priority should be to visit both to see if they're schools you like. You shouldn't choose on the basis of what a few of us on a forum can tell you.
The qualifying score for all Bucks grammar schools is 121.
Do you mean both schools are 1-2 hours away or half an hour? To be honest, the former is more realistic than the latter.

The cutoff for all Bucks grammar schools is 121, and then it is on distance. You need to look at the admission criteria. Have you visited the schools? Burnham has open mornings this week I think. You would struggle to do Hounslow to Beaconsfield in the mornings.

Last year in March they only offered to 8.9 and 10.2 miles - I think Hounslow would be further away? You need to consider carefully your chances of gaining admission (it looks unlikely) plus the feasibility of any journey for 7 years.

Considerably further. Not one single child from Hounslow received a Bucks GS place last year.kittymum wrote:Last year in March they only offered to 8.9 and 10.2 miles - I think Hounslow would be further away?

No chance. Maybe 40 minutes outside rush hour, but at school times, easily an hour at least.

Half an hour?? No chance at school times.
Surely you thought about this before entering your DD for the test?
BHS Open Eve was a while ago.

Are they driving miles or lined miles?

The distances are as the crow flies - straight line.Berkmum2016 wrote:Are they driving miles or lined miles?
